Please read through page 11 of Night by Thursday, 2/2.
You will have a vocabulary test on the words in your Night syllabus on Friday, 2/10. In addition, you will need to be able to use these words in the following patterns:
general statement: specific statement
a semicolon and conjunctive adverb
a parenthetical element set off with dashes
an adjective phrase opener
a prepositional phrase opener
We will practice these patterns in class on Thursday.
Finally, please bring three photographs of yourself to class on Monday, 2/6. These photos should be from different periods in your life, and they may include other people. If you wish, you may bring photocopies of these photos instead of the original picture. We will use these to write our next major essay, a photo memoir.
