Welcome to Spring Semester. You have a new opportunity to start from scratch and to build a body of work--and a grade--that matches your ambitions. Now that is a fine thing, indeed.
Tomorrow, I will give you a handout with directions for creating a literary terms log for Romeo and Juliet. These directions will give you an example of an entry and explain how I would like you to format your paper. Please follow the directions carefully. The log is due on Wednesday, January 25.
In addition, this week we will learn about sonnets. You and a partner will work on a sonnet project where you will annotate and recite one of Shakespeare's sonnets. (If you flawlessly recite the sonnet from memory, you will qualify for an A on the assignment.) Again, please refer to the directions I will give you for specific instructions and requirements. The sonnet project is due on Thursday, January 19.
